I bought Sandpiper Mousehole in Cornwall in November 2009 and opened for holiday rental in 2010. It is a 2 bedroomed single storey detached property that sleeps 4, has spectacular sea views and off road parking. It is an approximate five mintutes walk from the harbour at Mousehole, a truely picturesque fishing village a few miles from Penzance. Sandpiper enjoys fabulous sea views over Mount Bay and beyond. It was a holiday let and I had been staying their twice a year for the previous five years or so. It came on the market and I bought it as an investment / type of retirement provision. I did some major work to maximise the sea views from within the property and from the new deck area that I had built. I stay there about 5 times a year letting out the other weeks.
The first year 2010 beat all booking expectations and this year is already well on target to beat last year`s occupancy. However, I do appreciate that investing in this market is a high risk venture.
The web site, pictures and guest comments have definitely had a positive effect on maximising the bookings.
