Property overview: Greenacres Barn is high quality self-catering accommodation for 4 people & parking for 2 cars. A superb, recently renovated stone built holiday cottage situated in a wonderful rural setting overlooking an unspoilt valley in the beautiful Peak District National Park. There are excellent views across meadows to the surrounding hills - which include Cracken Edge, Kinder Scout, Chinley Head and Combs Edge. The barn has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard and makes a cosy retreat at any time of the year. Within easy reach of the Pennine Trail and Bridleway it is a great location for walking, horse riding, cycling or just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful Peak District countryside.
Description of accommodation: Greenacres Barn consists of a detached traditional stone-built barn with all the advantages of a modern superbly styled property. The barn was converted by us to create a contemporary, versatile and well-proportioned living accommodation which harmonizes with its setting.The barn has been tastefully furnished throughout with antique pine furniture. The barn is electrically heated with an additional electric style stove fire in the living room, providing ample warmth in the coldest of conditions.Accommodation consists of:-1 double en-suite bedroom, with pine bed, wardrobe, bedside cabinets, and chest of drawers.
-1 twin en-suite bedroom, with separate pine beds, wardrobe, bedside cabinets, and chest of drawers.
-The en-suites are fully equipped with an electric pumped shower, toilet, basin, and heated towel rail. Initial cleaning materials and toilet paper are provided.
-Open plan lounge with electric stove fire, including three-piece suite, colour TV, DVD player, radio/cd player with mp3 connection, local maps and books.
-Open plan kitchen/diner, well stocked with crockery and kitchen utensils. Also including electric oven, microwave oven, food mixer, washing machine, fridge, ironing board and iron.
-There is a clothes' drying line for guests to use. A tumble dryer is available at extra cost.
-A child safety gate is available.
-Extra towels available
-All bedding included.
Nearby Attractions: There are many scenic walks across open moorland, over cultivated valleys, or around the wooded edges of reservoirs.

The area has many picturesque stone villages, being located near the division of the white limestone of the South, and the dark gritstone of the North. This division also creates many contrasting geographical and geological features. There is a variety of places to eat and drink in the village of Hayfield - not to mention a 5 min walk to the local pub. Hayfield, historic Pennine village, with its 3-storey weavers' cottages. Kinder Scout Plateau and start of the Pennine Way at Edale. Excellent walking. Ladybower and Derwent Reservoirs, and Macclesfield Forest for scenic walks. Lyme Hall and deer park. Elizabethan Hall, where 'Pride and Prejudice' was filmed. Mam Tor and Castleton, with its limestone caverns and newly discovered Titan cave, medieval castle, and opportunity for hang gliding. Buxton - spa town, and highest English town, with its festival, Opera House, and historic Poole's Cavern also Go Ape adventure playground for the kids. Flash - highest village in England. Peak Forest for Fresh Fields donkey sanctuary. Chestnut Centre - otter, owl and badger sanctuary. Sett Valley Trail, Middlewood Way, Longdendale Valley Trail - scenic traffic-free walks or cycle hire. New Mills Heritage Centre, with displays/model of the local area, also the New Mills Millennium Walkway. Peak Forest Canal - Whaley Bridge Basin for canal boat trips, and Marple aqueduct and flight of locks. Bollington Discovery Centre, with cycle and canoe hire. Bramall Hall, and Adlington Hall - both Tudor Manors. Etherow Country Park, for nature walks, etc. Combs Reservoir - fishing available
