Property overview: Holiday accommodation in South Lakeland - on the Cartmel Peninsula. A 3 bedroom cottage sleeping five. Large lounge with dining area, fitted kitchen with washer, microwave, and breakfast area. Modern upstairs bathroom with shower and heated towel rail. Centrally heated with additional electric fire in the lounge. This cottage is warm and cosy in the winter, cool and airy in summer. Description of accommodation: Spaceous accommodation on 2 floors. The large lounge has a colour TV, bookcase with a good selection of books for children and adults, and drawers with games, jigsaws and cards. There are 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed, large wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables and lamps, one with bunk beds and fitted wardrobe, and one with a single bed and small wardrobe. The upstairs bathroom has been recently put in with new suite, bath and overbath shower, heated towel rail and mirrored cupbaord over the wash basin. Outside at the back of the property there is room to park one car, which can be accessed by the side road. Nearby Attractions: Within a minutes walk from 2 local pubs, a fish and chip shop, the village post office and the village store. A short walk from the railway station, with trains to Ulverston, Barrow, Arnside Silverdale and Lancaster. About a mile from Holker Hall and gardens with deer park, cafe, motor museum, gift shop, picnic area and ample parking. Flookburgh is an ideal base for exploring the southern Lake district, with the southern tip of Lake Windermere about 6 miles away, with the lakeside steamers, the aquarium of the lakes, the Haverthwaite steam railway and fell foot National Trust Lakeside Park. Nearby is Humphrey Head a limestone promontary into Morecambe bay part of which is a Nature Reserve. A local legend say that this is where the last wolf in England was killed. Grange over Sands is a pretty Victorian town on the estuary of the River Kent - only about ten minutes by car, where you can find a good selection of shops, incuding tea shops, spar and coop and banks. Grange has a long promenade, ornamental gardens and lovely coastal scenery. Cartmel is only about 2 miles away - with Cartmel Priory, shops cafes, race course and many easy walks through beautiful countryside and woodlands. From Cartmel or Grange you can climb Hampsfell with breathtaking views over Morecambe Bay.
