Description of accommodation: A deceptively spacious, comfortable cottage for 2 on the fringe of the Lake District NationalPark. There is a choice of either a double or a twin as there are actually 2 bedrooms but we prefer to take just two people. The cottage is available on a weekly basis and also for short breaks and B&B. The cottage is located on the outskirts of the village of Newbiggin, three and a half miles west from Penrith. Adjoining the owners house, in former days the cottage functioned as the village blacksmith and farriers shop. It has recently been refurbished to very high standards including rewiring and new central heating. Large, oak beamed lounge with reclining sofa, 2 easy chairs, freeview TV, DVD, Radio/CD player. Large luxury bathroom with constant hot water, extra large bath, walk-in shower, vanity unit, toilet. Well equipped kitchen with oven/grill,ceramic hob, fridge/frezzer, dishwasher, washer dryer, microwave etc. Away from the crowds, but yet ideally situated for the Lakes, Ullswater 5 miles, Blencathra range 6 miles and Keswick 14 miles. Scottish borders approx 40 miles. Nearby Attractions: Rheged Heritage centre 1 mile. Penrith with pubs, cafes, shops etc. 10 minutes drive. Pub serving food half a mile.
