Property overview: This pretty stone cottage, with views of the Castle ruins is situated in the picturesque market town of Helmsley. Castle View Cottage is comfortably furnished and in an excellent location just two minutes walk to a choice of specialist shops, restaurants, tea rooms and public houses. The weekly market is still held in the square each Friday. Helmsley’s location on the edge of the North York Moors National Park makes it an ideal base for visiting the coastal villages and towns of Robin Hoods Bay, Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Whitby. Walking is very popular in this area with the Cleveland Way walk starting in Helmsley. The historic City of York is just 23 miles away where you can visit many attractions including York Minster, Cliffords Tower, the Castle Museum, the Yorvik Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum to name but a few Description of accommodation: Castle View Cottage has a beamed living room with a coal effect gas fire and traditional window seat. There are two sofas, colour TV, DVD player with a small selection of DVD’s, books and games. We also have an information folder where you will find comprehensive details on places to visit and things to do in the area. The well equipped spacious kitchen includes a dining area and rear hall with boot room and coat hooks. The back door leads out into the garden. Appliances in the kitchen include oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer/dryer and microwave as well as a kettle and toaster. On the first floor there is a bedroom with a double bedstead, double wardrobe , chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. The second bedroom has a 2 foot 6” hideaway guest bed which can be used as a single or can be pulled out to make twin beds. This room is also furnished with a double wardrobe and small bedside table. We provide all bedding and towels. The first floor bathroom has a bath with over bath shower, wc and wash basin. To the rear of the cottage there is a delightful large cottage garden with patio furniture. You will also find a useful outhouse for the storage of cycles if you are feeling active! At the side of the cottage there is off street parking with space for two cars. Castle View Cottage is strictly no smoking and unfortunately we do not allow pets.
