Description of accommodation: The cottage has private parking within its own gates and small garden to the rear with picnic furniture in the summer months. There is a fully equipped modern kitchen with a utility room for washing and drying clothes. The dining room has an extendable table that seats 8 people. There is also a high chair for a baby. The lounge has games, DVDs, books, TV/DVD. There is also a downstairs shower room, fitted with a new shower unit in 2009 There are 3 bedrooms on the first floor and a fourth single bedroom reached by a loft ladder. The first floor also has a family bathroom.
Nearby Attractions: Goathland has its own shops and post office. There are several pubs and eating places in the village which is served by buses on the Whitby York route. Goathland has its own station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. It is an excellent centre for walking in the North Yorkshire Moors and is less than half an hour away by car from the internationally recognised Dalby Forest Cycle Trails. The theme park of Flamingo land is also within half an hour by car and the Second World War Museum of Eden Camp is just a few mile further on before reaching Malton on the A169 The Historic seaside town of Whitby, with its associations with Captain Cook is about 8 miles away by car. There are more shops in Whitby, many of these are novelty shops associated with the old town. Whitby has a long sandy beach stretching to Sandsend, one of a number of charming seaside villages along the coast. There are excellent restaurants in Whitby, perhaps the most famous of these is the Magpie. Scarborough is a major seaside resort with a large variety of attractions. York is a city that has a rich cultural and historic heritage. This city has ancient walls, narrow streets and excellent museums such as the Railway Museum and Castle Museum. The Jorvic Centre is also a great place to visit.
