Period features include oak timbers, stripped pine panelling and a lovely inglenook fireplace. It is tastefully furnished throughout with lots of thoughtful, individual touches. Accommodation is for up to 4 people in one double bedrooom and one twin-bedded attic room. Please note the attic room has very steep and narrow stairs which make it unsuitable for under-11s or elderly or infirm visitors. Dogs are welcome by prior permission. GROUND FLOOR Sitting room with pine panels and lovely brick inglenook housing a working woodburner. A Laura Ashley settee and two leather wing-back armchairs guarantee relaxation in front of the TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, cutlery, crockery, ovenware and a drop-leaf table with four chairs. The back door leads to a small, fully enclosed courtyard with garden table and chairs. Facing south it provides a secluded spot to eat outdoors on a sunny day. FIRST FLOOR Up the first staircase are the main bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom boasts a decorative fireplace, pine detailing, glazed linen cupboard, TV, DVD and Victorian-style bedstead with comfy matttress. The bathroom is small but full of character, being decorated in seaside style and having exposed timbers. TOP FLOOR Very steep stairs lead to the charming attic bedroom with its oak timbers and twin, Victorian style beds. PARKING Parking for one car is included. The garage is a few streets away. Nearby Attractions: Sandwich is a picturesque town with dozens of medieval buildings, narrow streets, river and quayside. As one of the original Cinque Ports it supplied fighting ships and men in exchange for tax privileges. The cottage is situated in the town centre conservation zone, which puts a full range of amenities within just a few minutes walk. Among them are interesting shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, banks, public library with free wi-fi and mainline station with trains to London. Attractions include Salutation House and gardens, the old town walls walk and the Quay. Boat trips are available all year - either upstream to the Roman fort at Richborough or downstream to spot seals in the Bay. Unspoiled sandwich Bay is a 40-minute walk across the dunes of Royal St George's golf links or a short car journey via toll-road. Further afield but still within a 15-mile radius are the ancient cathedral city of Canterbury, the sandy beaches of Thanet, the chalky North Downs, the white cliffs of Dover and the seaside towns of Deal, Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs.
