It has been converted from a former farm building and has been tastefully furnished and equipped to a high standard.A perfect place for a holiday in Northumberland and especially for seeing all the sites of Hadrian's Wall. Great as a base for a walking holiday in the area. Description of accommodation: The cottage is single-storey and comprises of a living room/kitchen with all the necessary equipment for catering plus TV/DVD for entertainment. The view from the French window is outstanding over open countryside with the local Golf course right on the doorstep. There are two bedrooms- a double with a king size bed and a twin. The shower room has WC, wash basin and a large shower cubicle.The cottage has central heating but there is a wood burner with plentiful supply of logs if you would like to supplement the heating. Nearby Attractions: The main attraction for a holiday in Stanegate Cottage must be to visit Hadrian's Wall and its many sites and museums. The nearest place is Walltown Crags and the Roman Army Museum only 5 minutes away! Plenty more sites are within 10 miles of the cottage.The village pub is only 5 minutes down the hill where you can have a drink or a good meal. The nearest town is Haltwhistle 3 miles away for all shops and services and the Tourist Information Centre.The many places of interest in Northumberland, eg Alnwick, the coast with castles and Holy Island, Kielder Water, Cragside, Newcastle etc are all accessible from the cottage.
