Property overview: Wren Cottage is one of three 17th Century former canal worker's cottages (see owner website) on six idyllic acres that sleep up to 14-16 guests. There are play areas for the kiddies, chickens to feed, meadow and playing fields, charming gardens with furniture to stretch out on and a Jacuzzi hottub for complete relaxation. Description of accommodation: Wren Cottage has a good size lounge with log burning fire leading to kitchen and a good size bathroom with shower over bath. There is a double and twin room to the first floor. GCH. Bed linen and bath towels are provided. All of our three cottages can be booked together to sleep up to 14-16 guests! The cottages are set in six safe acres with play area to the rear and charming gardens to the front with garden furniture and bar-b-que for your use. There is a Jacuzzi hottub available at a small extra charge. We have hens so one can enjoy fresh free range eggs. Nearby Attractions: Kidwelly is a costal town so we are only a short distance from the sandy beaches of Carmarthenshire. We have a good local Co-op, post office, pubs and best of all one of the oldest best preserved medieval castles in wales. Carmarthenshire known as the Garden of Wales for its lush rolling countryside, woodlands,and meadows is a dream for cyclists and hikers. We are on the doorstep to Pembrey Country Park with its vast Cefn Sidan beach with miles of golden sands sweeping round to 500 acres of beautiful parkland enclosing family attractions and visitor centre. There is so much to do here that many guests find that after a week they have not ventured much further afield. The kids love it..... dogs and their owners too! We are just a few minutes drive along the country lanes from Britain's fabulous new racecourse, Ffos Las which opened in 2009 staging both National Hunt and Flat fixtures. One may join the Millennium Coastal Walk from Pembrey which has a 22km traffic-free coastal/cycleway and overlooks the spectacular Gower Peninsula and passes through the transformed harbour of Burry Port.
Visit the Dylan Thomas Boathouse Museum at sleepy Laugharne or pick up some bargains at the bustling horical town of Carmarthen with its coffee shops, restaurants and pubs.
