Holiday Cottages in Devon

Devon is a land of contrast, with beautiful shores and coastlines alongside wooded valleys, moorlands, and rolling, provincial countryside. Tourist attractions abound in this beautiful land and there are hundreds of fantastic holiday cottages to rent.

In North Devon and Exmoor, for instance, the visitor can find miles of golden beaches, stunning cliffs, and winding deep lane, beside the wilderness uplands of Exmoor. Picturesque country villages can be found tucked away in the countryside of North Devon. Holsworthy and Hatherleigh, for instance, are great places to experience vacation activities as cycling, fishing, horse riding, or just plain rambling around in the greenery. Accommodation includes a multitude of cottages to rent.

Southwest England is often seen as the local alternative to going on holiday to FranceExmoor Devon and even Spain if beach holidays is what you want.
Exmoor still has moorlands and wilderness areas where wild ponies and deer roam, providing a real treat for nature lovers. Many rare species of birds, plants, and animals can also be found in Exmoor.

Beach goers and those with a taste for the sea will also find many gorgeous coastlines and beaches in Devon. Woolacombe, a blue-flag beach in North Devon, was recently voted as one of the world’s top ten. Croyde is another Seaside Award beach that is known for its surfing opportunities, while Saunton is a very long stretch of coast, with sands stretching as far as the eye can see in both directions.

In contrast to these natural coastlines, there are also harbours that can be visited in Devon. Clovelly, Ilfracombe, and Lynmouth are all harbors that will offer visitors an alternative way to enjoy the sights and sounds of the sea and the coastline. In the Hartland peninsula, the coastal path is especially exciting as it follows high cliffs and small coves.

Devon does not lack for more modern attractions, either. Gardens and parks make it easier and more convenient to enjoy the beautiful natural sights. There are many adventure centers where the whole family can try themselves against an assault course, go kart racing.

Farm centers will offer families the chance to meet calves, lambs, and chicks, as well as get to experience the farm life. Zoos are also great destinations, for more exotic animals. If you would like to see sea animals instead, then the Living Coast would be happy to oblige, with its penguins and fur seals, or even the National Marine Aquarium, with many reefs and corals.
